LICENSING 2022 – Detran, Consultation, Table, 2 Copy

If you are planning to buy a vehicle, you need to be aware of the expenses incurred, such as fuel, maintenance, expenses and taxes. One of the most important of it is the 2022 licensing, as it guarantees that your car will have the documentation properly regularized to be circulating.

Annual leave is one of those expenses, and lack of information can make you irregular and violate traffic laws. And to prevent that from happening, read this article and get a better understanding of vehicle licensing!

Detran Licensing 2022

In addition to the IPVA and DPVAT tax, car owners should also pay attention to another fee: vehicle licensing. This is an annual and mandatory procedure that authorizes vehicles to circulate and proves that the vehicles comply with safety and environmental standards for the automotive sector.

However, in practice this is different, since, in most Brazilian cities, a rigorous inspection of the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV) does not take place.

Detran Licensing 2022

The State Department of Transit (Detran Licensing) is the public executive body of Denatran, whose main function is the management and inspection of traffic. Tasks are delegated to the department, such as monitoring traffic tickets for drivers, registering license plates, evaluating future drivers and issuing a driver’s license.

In addition, all Detran’s in Brazil have an official website, on which it is possible to find a series of services, such as monitoring of fines and points in the register of drivers and instructions on how to dispute fines.

How to license my vehicle?

The list of documents required to license the vehicle is available on the Detran licensing website. Whoever opts for electronic means will need the vehicle’s Renavan number. It is also important that the current home address must be the same as the address included in the Detran record, otherwise the owner must request a change of address.

Check out how to license your vehicle in person:

Step 01 . Through the vehicle’s Renavan, pay the issuance fee of the new CRLV at a bank branch, ATM or Internet;

Step 02 . The banking system will notify you of possible debts relating to mandatory insurance (DPVAT), fines and property tax. If there is a debt, it is necessary to pay it off;

Step 03 . Carry all the necessary documents when going to a Detran or Ciretran service unit;

Step 04 . Check with the transit department the deadline for obtaining the documents.

The documents required are as follows:

  • Renvam/Vehicle Plate;
  • Personal identification documents – originals;
  • Proof of payment of debt (outstanding fines or fees) – original copy.

If the vehicle is registered in another state, it can be electronically licensed by paying a fee at a bank, ATM or Internet. However, it is important to emphasize that the document will be sent to the address registered with Detran – remember that vehicle registration is only allowed in your place of residence.

Tocantins Licensing

Tocantins Licensing

The IPVA slips and mandatory licensing for the year 2021 are available on the website of Detran Tocantins and of the Secretariat of State for Finance.

If your state is not present in the list above, just access the Traffic Department’s website to make the 2022 licensing query.

How to pay for the 2022 licensing

Proof of payment of IPVA and compulsory authorizations can be found on your state’s Detran website and on the State Secretariat of Finance website. Following the step-by-step instructions in the previous section, you should return to the Detran website in your state and find the annual license. Then, just generate the guide and pay.

You can also contact the authorized Detran agent directly with the vehicle’s Renavan number and pay on the spot. In some states, the same can be done at the lottery office.

In Bahia, for example, licensing and property tax can be settled through cell phones.

Consequence of not paying the Licensing

The Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB) stipulates in article 130 that all vehicles that circulate on the roads must be licensed annually by the responsible agency of their state.

According to article 230 of the CTB, failure to comply with this rule is a very serious infraction, and you can be fined R$293.47, take seven points in your wallet and even have your car impounded.

What happens if the driver has his license up to date but forgets the CRLV at home?

Well, in this case, there are two possibilities. In accordance with Article 130, the “Annual Licensing Certificate” is mandatory postage. However, in 2016, a paragraph was added to this article, which provides the following:

  • “Art. 130, Sole paragraph – Possession will be waived when, at the time of inspection, it is possible to have access to the appropriate computerized system to verify that the vehicle is licensed.”
  • “Art. 232. Driving a vehicle without the mandatory transport documents referred to in this Code:
    Violation – light;
  • Penalty – fine;
  • Administrative measure – retention of the vehicle until the presentation of the document.”

See the inconvenience of not having CRLV! In addition to not being able to continue the trip until the presentation of the document, the driver must also pay a fine of R$ 88.38 and add 3 points to the driver’s license.

It is noteworthy that, as provided for in article 261, item I, of the CTB, the accumulation of 20 points in the portfolio within a period of one year will result in the suspension of the right to temporary driving.

2 Via licensing

As with most vehicle services, it is possible to issue the 2 via licensing in person or through the website of the State Department of Traffic in your location.

Understand better below:

2 via the website

2 Via licensing

The steps are basically the same for those who want to do a debt inquiry. We will also use the Detran SP website as an example. Check out:

Step 01 . Access your state’s Detran/Sefaz website. In the case of São Paulo – www.detran.sp.gov.br ;

Step 02 . Now you should click on the option “Check here if the payment has already been registered”;

Step 03 . Afterwards, inform your access data (CPF and password). If you are not registered, simply register quickly in the same option.

Step 04 . Proceed by informing your vehicle data and click on the option referring to its licensing.

Step 05 . Finally, just locate and click on the option referring to the 2nd copy of the document.

2 in person

Certain services that require the issuance of a 2 copy of Licensing 2022 must be collected in person at the service department.

The guidelines are as follows:

  • To request a second copy of the CRLV, complete the electronic form and click on “Issue DAE Guidelines”;
  • Pay the AED at an approved bank network. Visit -> Approved Bank;
  • In possession of these documents, go to the Detran-MG service center and request the issuance of a second copy of the CRLV.

In case of theft, or loss, the owner must first find the police station and file a police report for security purposes. It is important to carry out this process to avoid fraudulent cloning, disposal and transfer of assets.

It is worth remembering that, for the issuance of the second copy of the CRLV, vehicles cannot have a debt related to the Property Tax on Motor Vehicles (IPVA), Mandatory Insurance, Licensing Fee and fines.

Digital Licensing

Contran (National Traffic Council) issued an opinion in the Official Gazette (DOU) on December 31, 2019, which electronically deals with the issuance and verification of vehicle registrations and certificates (CRLV Digital).

To download the CRLV-e app, the user needs a National Driver’s License (CNH) (issued from 05/01/2017) with QR code and smartphone.

Digital Licensing

Check out the complete walkthrough for activating CRLV:

Step 01 . Install the application (CDT) of your state on your mobile, which can be purchased from Google Play and App Store;

Step 02 . Register the user in the application itself;

Step 03 . Activate the account via the link sent to the registration email;

Step 04 . To obtain the Digital CNH, users must use a digital certificate to verify their registration through the Denatran service portal, or verify in person with Detran under their jurisdiction;

Step 05 . To add a CRLV digital file, it is not necessary to verify the registration, just inform the Renavan number and the CRV security code (formerly DUT);

Step 06 . Generate a 4-digit “access key” (PIN);

Step 07 . Add the digital version of the document (CNH numbers and/or CRLV numbers);

Step 08 . Finally, check out the added documents.

As we’ve seen in this article, 2022 licensing is the shortest name for Vehicle Registration and Licensing (CRLV). This document guarantees the regular circulation of vehicles on public roads.

The way in which the responsible bodies guarantee this regularity is the annual renewal of the CRLV. Like the CNH, it is a mandatory document for drivers and it is worth understanding how it works, to avoid any type of traffic violations related to CRLV authorizations.
